Blushes are most definitely my favourite makeup product. They add such a lovely colour to your face and look absolutely beautiful on everyone.
It’s a fact that high end makeup companies know what they’re talking about when it comes to blushes. The consistency, the pigmentation and the colour are almost always spot on. There are however many drugstore blushes which are just as amazing but we’ll save that for another day.
Here this photo lies in my opinion some of the best high end blushes to give you those beautifully pink cheeks that everyone wants.
BOBBI BROWN SHIMMER BRICK IN ROSE
Firstly we have the Bobbi Brown shimmer brick in rose. MY ALL TIME FAVOURITE PRODUCT. I had never seen this product before last year when my sister kindly purchased it for my birthday. I instantly fell in love with it. If you want those gorgeous glowy soft pink cheeks that have a subtle shine in every lighting then this is the blush for you. It looks amazing swirled together as a blush but can also be used for eyeshadow, highlight and even a bronzer if using the two darker shades. This comes in at £34 on the Bobbi Brown website which is a little pricey however it is very versatile which makes it well worth the money and it takes forever to get through which is a huge bonus. This would make a perfect gift or a treat to oneself (you deserve it). Overall a definite necessity in any makeup lovers bag who loves the glow within look.
HOURGLASS AMBIENT LIGHTING BLUSH IN LUMINOUS FLUSH
“OH MY GOSH, LOOK AT THAT PACKAGING.” My initial reaction when coming across Houglass cosmetics while in Harvey Nichols. The beautiful gold packaging may have been the factor which brought me to the counter but the quality is what made me buy. It is silky, light, blendable, buildable and very pigmented. The gold particles in the blush add the prettiest radiance to the cheeks and the colour is most definitely perfect for summer. It adds a gorgeous soft shimmer to the cheeks creating that “effortless” glow. Overall a huge winner in my eyes. Pair with a rose coloured lipstick such as Loreal’s colour riche in Julianne’s Nude and you’ve got the perfect rosey look. The blush comes in at £32 on the spacenk website (i’m positive it was £28 in December 2015). Again pricey for a single use product but the quality and luxuriousness of the blush makes up for it. The only downside is that it seems to be quite small in size however it has personally lasted me forever and you only need a little bit on a brush to achieve that stunning glow. This is absolutely a high end blush that I would recommend to anyone.
NARS BLUSH IN ORGASM
What can I say? There is a reason why this blush is so popular. It suits every skin tone and immediately creates a subtle and natural coral/pink glow to the cheeks. Its silky and blends like a dream on the cheeks. Its intensely pigmented and has a beautiful slight golden undertone. What more could you want in a blush. Its very peachy colour which I think would be perfect for on holiday or on a summers day paired with a coral lipstick. A light application is all you need meaning it lasts forever. This comes in at £23 on the Nars website which is a relatively good price for such a holy grail product. A definite must!!
BENEFIT DANDELION BLUSH
I remember using this blush in one of the mini gift sets that benefit do. I instantly loved the brightening effect it gave. I tend to go for very natural makeup for everyday and this is just the perfect product. Use on top of a bb cream or a tinted moisturiser such as the Bare Mineral Complexion rescue to create that “no makeup” makeup look. Highly recommend this colour for those who want to brighten their complexion very subtly. Its not highly pigmented but thats what I love about it as it creates such a natural finish and can also be built up. Perfect for those of you who prefer not to wear much blush or any blush at all. I love the packaging of benefit products, so very pretty and also come with a convenient brush. This comes in at £23.50 in Boots which is a more acceptable price for high end makeup and can easily be picked up in most big Boots stores. Also if using the store Boots you can also collect points using their advantage card which add up quickly for any makeup lover.
MAC SHEERTONE BLUSH IN BLUSHBABY
As many of you will now be aware after reading my recommendations, I love glowy face products. They give you such a gorgeous shine so quickly and look so pretty on every skin. I rarely use all matte blushes bar this one. The colour is a brown based pink which looks so natural on the skin meaning it is perfect for an everyday blush. It enhances your already beautiful cheeks by giving a soft flush. They are highly pigmented so a light hand is all you need and it gives such a flawless finish. Although it does look very natural I would tend to use this at an evening event to create a more glamorous look as throughout the day I usually wear more pinky/rosey shades. These come in at £18 on Debenhams which is very reasonable for a high end blush. Mac also often comes up on Secret Sales where my sister bought me this one which I think she got for an astounding £12 so definitely sign yourself up for that to receive great deals.
Overall I love all of these blushes and truly would recommend to all in market of a new blush or to those wanting to treat yourself.
Let me know any of your favourite blushes in the comments below as I would love to hear from you and to try them.
