YSL certainly know how to get my attention. The beautiful, iconic packaging draws me in every time. And the exceptional quality of the products keeps me going back for more.
I was super excited to try this Touche Éclat foundation after seeing numerous videos of Freddy My Love recommending it on her youtube channel. So next time I was in the city I went into boots and splurged all my points on this one item. I’m always on the lookout for new foundations as I think a great base instantly brings such life to your skin and makes a big difference to the overall look of your makeup.
The first thing I noticed was that there was so many shades to choose from (22 in fact). Perfect for anyone who struggles to find their shade. I was in-between shades to begin with but eventually opted for their fairest shade (BR10) as I knew I would be able to wear it in winter when believe it or not I get even paler.
You can also get a free sample of the foundation from Boots to try out for a week which is amazing and allows you to experiment with it before forking out £33.50. Although it is slightly pricer than other high end foundations I find the quality of the product completely overrules the price tag.
The first thing I noticed about this foundation was the super thin consistency. It feels immensely light weight on the face yet still has super impressive coverage. What I like most about this foundation is that although it covers extremely well you can still see your skin keeping the over all look very natural.
It honestly has the most perfect coverage you can imagine. It covers all redness and any bumps yet does not look cakey nor does it feel heavy on the face. One thing I always struggle with is finding a foundation that does not glide of the nose. But this one is super long lasting and blends like a dream into the skin.
The texture of the foundation once it has all been buffed into the skin is very soft and velvety. It has the most wonderful glow ever; not completely matte but with a subtle, healthy radiance. I’ve never really been into matte products as I’m usually all about ‘dat glow’ but with this foundation I love how its not a complete shine fest.
If you like me have very dry sensitive skin you will love this product. Usually when trying a new foundation I get so worried about waking up in the morning with a huge breakout. But I was quickly put at ease by the fact that this product has no strong fragrance which is what usually what irritates my skin.
The foundation does contain SPF which is absolutely fabulous for summer days but beware if you are wearing it at night time and getting flash photos.
Overall, I am super impressed with this foundation and will definitely being buying the YSL primer to try under the foundation.
Let me know in the comments if you’ve ever tried anything from YSL and if you have any recommendations as I would love to try them!
