I’m all about that glow. Whether it’s sweat or highlight, I don’t think we should be afraid of a natural shine to the face. Unfortunately, my face is not a natural beam of golden light. So to achieve that glow from within look, I have to slightly cheat. To do this there are various products I use when creating a glowy makeup look- not solely powder highlighter.

My go to product for instantly making my skin glowy is Illuminator. Iluminators are the perfect product to give you that glow from within look and can often look much more natural than powder highlighters. I either mix the illuminator in to my foundation or use it as a base to give that dewy, glowy look.

Clairns Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base

One of my favourite illuminators is the Clairns Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base in Rose. This product feels extremely light on the face and leaves the skin looking subtly illuminated and glowy. On good skin days I skip foundation or bb creams and simply just use this to give my face a natural, pretty glow. This can be purchased for £26.50 on

Giorgio Armani Luminious Silk Foundation

A vital step for achieving a glowy makeup look is using a lightweight, luminious foundation. Steer clear of full coverage foundations when creating this look as you want to make sure your illuminator is able to still shine through the foundation. This one by Giorgio Armani is an absolute classic. I’ve seen this product favourited by so many youtubers and I recently discovered that this is one of Kim Kardashians favourites. The foundation is super lightweight and blends beautifully into the skin. The coverage is light to medium and has the perfect amount of radiance to it. At £40 a bottle it’s on the pricer side of foundations but it is definitely worth it.

 Mary Lou Manizer- The Balm

I had to include my holy grail highlighter for creating glowy skin. Mary Lou by the balm is definitely a product that lives up to its hype. It is a beautiful champagne colour which glides onto the skin beautifully. It’s extremely buildable meaning you can create a subtle or full on glow. I would recommend this product to anyone who struggles to find a highlighter for their pale complexion. The formula of the highlight is super glowy and in no way sparkly. To apply the product I use the Sigma F35 tapered highlighter brush which is perfect for precisely highlighting areas of your face.

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick

If you’ve read my blog from the very beginning you will know how much I love this product. I’ve used it for years and never once has it disappointed. The shade that I use is called Rose and is perfect for creating a glowy cheek. It’s an extremely versatile product as it can be used as highlight, eyeshadow and blush. It instantly makes your makeup look more radiant and luxurious. The product also lasts forever- I’ve had mine for nearly two and a half years. It truly is a necessity product for any blush lover.

Stila Magnificent Metals Lipgloss

To finish off a glowy makeup look I always use a lipgloss. This one by stilla is the perfect natural pink. It adds a beautiful sheer, shine to the lips yet does not leave them feeling sticky.

I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know in the comments below what your top products are for getting that glow.
