I have to admit that when it comes to makeup most of my collection tends to be high end. Not because I particularly like spending £30 on a foundation but it often works better with my super sensitive skin. This month I decided I wanted to experiment with a few more drugstore products and found a few amazing gems and rediscovered a few products that I just had to let you in on.

Essie Nail Polishes- Left to right: Ballet slippers Spin the Bottle and Tassel Shaker

I’m one of those people who can’t keep nail polish on for longer than a day. I’ve never been able to find a brand that actually stays on my nails and doesn’t instantly chip. But after recently discovering the brand Essie, I’ve became a nail polish fanatic. The brand has an absolutely beautiful range of colours, suiting everyones needs whether you love the bold oranges or subtle nudes. I apply two coats of the polish and it lasts for almost a week which is perfect for me. I would highly recommend giving the brand Essie a chance if you have previously given up hope in all nail polish. I promise you won’t regret it.

Loreal True Match Concealer

The brand Loreal is firm favourite in my family. Especially the True Match Foundation. So when I popped into Boots a couple of weeks ago and discovered they had just brought out a new range of concealers I just had to buy. And I’m so glad I did. The first thing I noticed when buying was how extensive the shade range was. Having super fair skin makes it tricky to find a concealer that is actually lighter than my foundation. But Loreal had so many options to choose from. The concealer is extremely lightweight on the skin yet has super coverage hiding any blemishes or redness with ease. I’ve been using it everyday since I got it!

The Ordinary Serum Serum Foundation

At £5.90 this foundation is an absolute steal. A couple of weeks ago I wrote a whole blog post about this brand and I still can’t get enough of it. But to summarise… The shade range is absolutely amazing and caters for nearly every skin tone possible. The finish of the foundation is semi matte with a tiny bit of glow. I usually opt for a more radiant base but this foundation still looks super pretty on the skin. The serum is perfect for using everyday but I would extremely recommend using the primer that ‘The Ordinary’ produce before applying the foundation to make it last longer during the day.

Loreal Paris Nude Magique Cushion Foundation

If your all about super natural makeup then you will love Loreal’s Cushion Foundation. The coverage is super buildable yet can be used lightly for a ‘your skin but better’ look. The product has a lovely dewiness to it making dry skin looking instantly revitalised. It’s also the perfect product for touchups on the go as an applicator and mirror is included in the set.

NYC Sunny Bronzer

If I could make you buy one budget beauty product, this would most definitely be it. At £2.50 this bronzer has been a holy grail product in my collection for years. It’s the perfect matte bronzer for contouring and adding dimension to the face. It is super pigmented meaning only a light hand is needed upon application. The bronzer is also an amazing dupe for Benefits Hoola at a fraction of the cost. I bought mine over a year ago abroad but you can easily purchase it online on the likes of Amazon.

The Balm Lou Manizer

It’s often debated in the beauty community whether the brand ‘The Balm’ is high end or drugstore. I personally believe it is on the more affordable side as you can often find amazing offers on the product and it can easily be bought in Superdrug. But whatever the price tag one thing I can tell you is that the quality of the products makes the purchase completely justifiable. I’ve used the highlighter for just over a year and I can’t quite put into words how much I love the product. Its immensely pigmented and the light champagne colour means its great for every skin tone- even for the palest of us. The formula glides onto the skin with complete ease adding a lovely, natural glow to the skin. It is extremely buildable meaning if your into the disco ball look it can be easily achieved. I bought mine from Feel Unique for only £13.00 last year so definitely check out their website for great offers.

Maybelline Beige Nude Lipstick (Honey Beige)

If your searching for a perfect nude lipstick, then I think I’ve found it. This one by Maybelline is not just an amazing shade, its extremely long-lasting and immensely moisturising. I’ve been using it everyday and it’s slowly but surely becoming a holy grail product in my collection. And the cherry on the top of the cake? It’s only £3.95. The perfect price for any budget.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post and let me know in the comments what your favourite drugstore products are. I’d love to give them a try!

Love Katie X
